Research
Good research is the foundation of all good products and services. If the user needs are identified correctly and the solution is designed to solve for them, then the product is more likely to be successful.
Service Design
Service Design can help identify issues and opportunities within a service, by mapping it. The same mapping technique is used to also invent the future service, starting with the expected ideal user journey and building the service layers from there.
UX: User eXperience
“Good UX” is to shape journeys that are free from frustration and confusion. When UX is done well, it is 99% invisible, and systems work as expected.
Design Thinking
Design Thinking is an experiment-oriented and prototype-rich iterative approach, that uses visual thinking methods at every turn, to invent the future. Its foundations are the “yes, and” mindset, and collaborative workshops that needs to be shaped and facilitated by an expert.
Product management
Mindmaps are my magic tool for getting from research insights to epics and stories in a manner that is MECE (Mutually exclusive and completely exhaustive). In my 19 years in UX I have not seen a methodology for ensuring a backlog is “complete” insofar as research insights and jobs to be done are concerned, aside from my own method.
