Time to read: 4 minutes There have been no recent blog updates, and that is because I’ve had a very busy – and preoccupied – start to 2015! When I say “busy”: since January 1st I have: Flown to Athens for a weekend to celebrate my dad’s 80th Birthday. We had a great time, with coffee by the seaside in […] continue reading »
Category: Flat-hunting
Mid-January 2013, I was told the flat I am renting had sold and I needed to move. Less than a week later, this was retracted as the sale fell through. This was then repeated twice more. My moving out date is now April 6th, a week before my birthday (the 13 in @eurydice13!!). These are (mis) adventures on my quest to finding somewhere new to live in west London.
so wait a few years and it will stop
Time to read: 3 minutes As I start thinking about the incipit (first few words) of this article, I realise I was about to describe my outfit to you. Then I stopped. There is nothing wrong with my outfit. There is nothing wrong with me. The men who holler out “hey sexy” are the ones who are wrong. Not me. […] continue reading »

Floorplan furniture puzzle
Time to read: < 1 minute Five years ago, I moved into a small one bedroom flat. And even before moving in, I took measurements, created a floorplan, and tried to arrange the furniture, see how I could make it fit. The amusing thing is I conjured up 19 ways of placing them, starting with 0, the layout they were in […] continue reading »
Flat-hunting: i own too much stuff
Time to read: < 1 minute Months ago, I saw this excellent photo project “Millenials and everything they own“. It consists of a series of photos of people, next to all their stuff. Like this. So when I started to look for flats, after seeing the first place, my first reaction was to try and figure out what I would need […] continue reading »

Let’s give it a new morsel? Funny story… As you probably already know, I’m flat-hunting in West London. When I got in touch with Foxtons, the place I’d […] continue reading »
Flat-hunting tool: Evernote
Time to read: 2 minutes So I’m flat-hunting. With Evernote. How does this work? I get daily alerts I’ve signed up for SpareRoom’s early bird service, so I can be allowed to contact adverts that were posted on the same day. Every day, I get emails with all the new adverts that meet my criteria. I’ve set up searches, and […] continue reading »
Flat-hunting: an iterative process
Time to read: 3 minutes The shortest blog post ever. I have a canned reply for adverts of flats. And I realised today that I’ve edited it nearly every other day a little bit. I’ve also edited my original “I’m looking for a room” post. Here is the updated version. If you’re bored enough, you can compare it to the […] continue reading »
