Bouncing around on a bus this morning, we swerved and curved and stopped. Hopping on, hopping off, people rushing to school, to work, to friends.
The city is beautifully busy and buzzing with haste. I’m happy to live here because I can say: “London, I love you!”. And know I’m here to stay.

………

This is what happens when I take the bus into work in the morning. Scenic routes, people watching and speed-window-shopping make for one very happy Sophie! The 10-year-old in me is especially gleeful at passing by New Scotland Yard. I’ve always loved Sherlock Holmes!

I went to a conference a few weeks ago. Women in European Business. An eminent gamer and game designer was the keynote speaker. Jane McGonigal (@avantgame). She talked about how gamification can help deal with even terminal illnesses and mental issues, telling us the story of how it helped her recover from an incredibly serious concussion.

One of the concepts she identified and gamified was “power ups”. Simple easy goals that can be achieved and boost energy levels. Taking the bus in London is a “power up” for me. Thank you Jane!

  1. Well, this is a major improvement on your previous posts about commuting through dark, wet, freezing fields – in heels!
