A bookmark i drew on aquarelle paper while practicing in Florence in 2003.

Waterfast marker and aquarelle on heavy paper cut to measure.

I’m still alive!

... I write whenever I have something to share, which recently hasn't been that often.

If it's been quiet, it might be because my alter-ego, Seamstress Sophie, has been busy making things.

Do you like quotes?

(
You like quotes? More, more, MORE!)

Behind the scenes…

  • Living in London, I really appreciate it when a city makes the effort to signpost what road you are on. #paris #streetSigns
In London, signs with street names were taken down during WW2 so any enemies who landed would have no way to orient themselves. And many were never put back.
  • #tbt to Limassol in January 2018... #fiftyshadesofblue
  • Three of my favourite things: a weird architectural construct that accidentally became a cultural icon, moving water, and a sunset!!
  • They say you always remember where you were when you found out the bad news.
RIP Karl Lagerfeld. I hope that the afterlife is not boring :)
  • Sunset vibes... (I swear, he posed for me! And no, he’s not mine) #sunset
  • Someone who loves hanging out by the sea (and is not me!) installed a few cement chairs and loungers on this part of the beach. They were very comfortable, if a bit scratchy! Read some of my book there! (Reading La sombra del viento) #barcelona #sea #fiftyshadesofblue #bookreadingspot #sunnyspot
  • Hello, City guardian dragon 🤗
I love those little fellas! This one is particularly special... because on one side you can see the skyscrapers of the wealthy City, and on the other, the one or two-story buildings that used to make up the beginning of the slums of the east end, where Jack the ripper stalked his victims... I am still surprised at how strong the contrast is. Have you ever walked around Aldgate? #london #cityoflondon
  • I have strong opinions about stationery and branding. Scalpel-strong. It is such a waste of space (to me) to allocate 7 out of 60mm to a BRAND, that I sliced all the branding off these sticky tabs. If you squint, you might notice I sliced the other end off too. Another 8mm were being wasted (again, to me) on “read”, “revise”, “important”... Luckily, the glue area is deep enough, that they should function perfectly well without their repetitive branding. The colours and patterns are great, and 45mm are left for my use!

  • Making like a lizard in the sun while trying to match the background... 😬
Was too busy walking, eating, reading and sitting in the sun in the past 5 days in Barcelona to share any of the photos I took. So some favourites / highlights will be getting posted this week, while I’m back in colourless-by-comparison London. #barcelona #gaudi ❤️ 🦎
